Creating a Client Copy (Desktop)

What it is: A way to duplicate an existing client file under a new name — useful for producing a clean version of the Annual Financial Statements to share with the client without exposing internal working papers.

What it's for

When you are ready to share the Annual Financial Statements with a client, you often want to provide them with a copy that looks complete and final but does not include confidential working papers or audit notes. Creating a Client Copy lets you generate that clean duplicate quickly from the main client list.

How to do it

Creating a client copy (DX049)

  1. On the main Client List screen, select the client file you want to copy.
  2. Click Actions.
  3. Select Create Client Copy from the menu.
  4. Enter a name for the new copy (e.g. the client's name followed by "Client Copy" or the year).
  5. Click Copy Client. The copy is created and available in the client list.
